SUMMARY:SOE First-Year Engineering Design Challenge
DESCRIPTION:Calling first year engineering students at Tufts: Join us in making a giant Rube Goldberg Machine the size of the SEC Atrium! \n“Chain Reaction” machines (sometimes known as Rube Goldberg machines) have been a classic example of demonstrating the transfer of energy\, laws of motion\, and several other practical applications of engineering while providing creators with a hands-on making experience. Several teams of first-year students will be responsible for a “section” of the overall machine\, with a triggering of section-by-section and overall collaborative goal of a start-to-finish system. The total time provided to all teams to finish their contraptions will be 4 hours (arrive at 1pm and finish by 5pm). No prior knowledge or work required!

SUMMARY:No Code App Workshop - A Tufts E-Week event
DESCRIPTION:Once upon a time\, the rarified ability to create working mobile or web apps rests with engineers with programming and software development experience. Today\, however\, no code/low code tools coupled with generative AI allows anybody to create fully working dynamic apps\, even if they have no prior experience. In this workshop\, you will learn to create a working mobile or web app in just two hours using a browser-based set of no-code tools. No experience necessary! You will gain the confidence to learn new platforms on your own and create fully functional minimum viable products to test your ideas.\n\nThis event will be held in Room 301 at the Joyce Cummings Center at Tufts University.\n\nThis is a Tufts E-Week event hosted by Derby Entrepreneurship Center (DEC) in partnership with the Tufts School of Engineering and Tufts Gordon Institute (TGI). \nLearn more about DEC: https://derbyecenter.tufts.edu \nLearn more about TGI: https://gordon.tufts.edu
