Entrepreneurial Internship Program
For Students
Students interested in entrepreneurial internships may browse our curated job list and apply for internships with two options:
- During the Fall and Spring semesters, you can apply to earn graded course credit for an internship that does not offer cash compensation. See the website for the ENT198 Entrepreneurial Internship course for details.
- During the summer, DEC offers a limited number of Internship Grants through the career office that pays $4,500 per student for a 10-week summer internship, through the Entrepreneurial Internship Fund, administered by the Career Office.
Step 1: Find a job
- Browse entrepreneurial jobs either in our our curated job list or on Handshake.
- To qualify for either the Fall and Spring course credit option or the summer internship grant option, you may only apply to jobs that do not offer cash compensation.
- Reach out via email to the contact person listed in the curated job list and start the process of applying for the job. Not all curated jobs have a Handshake link (some are still in process) – simply email the contact person directly.
- Prepare for – and ace – the interviews.
- Get an offer letter via email.
Step 2: Apply for course credit or summer grant
- Check the eligibility of your employer on the “For Employers” page.
- If your employer is eligible, AND you have received an offer for an unpaid internship, you have two options:
- For Fall and Spring unpaid internships, you can reach out to entstudent@tufts.edu to start the process of registering for ENT198 Entrepreneurial Internship (3 credits). Be sure to review the course syllabus to ensure you understand our expectations for you, and for your employer.
- For summer internships, you can apply for the “Entrepreneurial Internship Grant” via the career office’s Summer Internship Grant program.
- Successful summer candidates provide thoughtful answers to the application where it comes to previous experience, interest in the job and more. Feel free to preview a successful application by clicking the button below.
Step 3: Summer Internship Only: Confirm acceptance and start date
- Confirm your internship with your employer
- Confirm your acceptance of the $4,500 internship grant with the career office.
- Confirm acceptance and start date with your employer.
- Participate in an orientation session prior to the start date.
