Example Roles
“What roles might I be able to take when I graduate?” This is a frequently asked question from our students. Our alumni show us the possible career paths for an entrepreneurial student at Tufts are many and varied – and there is no better way to try them out than taking an internship in that role. Check out some example internship roles our students have excelled in.
Examples of student skills and job characteristics
Marketing and Creative
- Social media strategy and account management
- Content strategy and execution
- Grassroots execution
- List management
- Influencer, ambassador, and affiliate marketing programs including partnerships and collaborations
Operations and Customer Experience
- Customer communications
- Properly log all calls, emails, and matters that require cross functional reporting
- Identify and own small projects such as surveys and customer interviews
- Support relevant RFPs – packaging, vendors, systems
- Support in reporting of key cx, logistics and operations metrics across the organization
Finance
- Support team in preparing weekly and monthly business analysis
- Engage in market research efforts and prioritization exercises
- Help to maintain data stack
- Work alongside business partners to provide dashboards to help them better operate within their functions and make data-informed decisions
- Proactively identify additional opportunities for financial and business improvements
- Assist with presentations
Technical Roles
- Experience with a multitude of programming languages
- Work with other developers and participate in constructive code review
- Build awesome new things to deliver exceptional customer experiences
