Elaine Tassinari, J.D., LL.M., is the Founder and Managing Member of Intellectual Property Law at Kendall Square Law Group. She brings 15 years of experience in intellectual property law, trial practice and business transactions.
Along with experience in patent law from both Washington, DC and Boston, MA, Ms. Tassinari served as a Judicial Attorney Extern to the Honorable Judge Rader at the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit where she drafted bench briefs on patent appeals. Additionally, Ms. Tassinari brings experience as a Summer Law Clerk and Fall Associate in a Washington, D.C. boutique patent firm in the biomedical inventions and medical devices litigation group.
Ms. Tassinari has years of multinational large scale litigation in the areas of government investigations and patent litigation. Her technology area is life sciences and she has worked on inventions and diversity proceedings for diabetes inventions, proteins, bone marrow transplants, electrical devices, medical devices, and other mechanical and life sciences inventions. In Boston, Ms. Tassinari has worked for start up firms in patent litigation in U.S. District Court and for major hospitals and medical schools in structuring and negotiating clinical research agreements and the attendant business agreements.
Ms. Tassinari is a member of the Massachusetts bar and has represented clients before the United States Patent and Trademark Office on Trademark matters. She is admitted to practice before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit and the U.S. District Court for the District of Massachusetts.
Ms. Tassinari has judged patent competitions for the Boston Patent Law Association’s, “Invented Here,” competition and for International Law competitions for Jessup Cup, International law Moot Court Competition. She has spoken at area law schools, in industry and universities where she guest lectures on intellectual property law,
In addition to legal experience, Ms. Tassinari began her career as a scientist at an oncology and immunology research biotechnology firm producing monoclonal antibodies for cancer research and clinical use abroad. Ms. Tassinari is well versed in laboratory procedure, techniques, and devices. She is experienced with FDA regulations and compliance.
Ms. Tassinari holds an LL.M. in Intellectual Property Law, George Washington University Law School, Washington, D.C, a J.D. in Intellectual Property Law, New England School of Law, Boston, MA, a Post Graduate Certificate in Clinical Research in Biomedicine, Boston University School of Medicine, a Certificate in International Relations from the Fletcher School at Tufts, and a Bachelor in Biology and English Literature from Merrimack College.
