Matt Purdy, E18, joined Breakthrough Energy in October 2021 and is responsible for supporting the BE Fellows Program. His work focuses on delivering a world-class, top-tier program experience for innovators and entrepreneurs creating climate-focused technologies needed to reach net-zero emissions by 2050.
Prior to joining Breakthrough Energy, Matt spent three years at MassChallenge where he managed startup programming for two accelerator programs: HealthTech and FinTech. As part of his role, Matt worked alongside the community of partners, investors, and industry experts to help startups develop, validate, and demonstrate their technologies to help solve existing challenges within healthcare and financial services.
Matt holds a B.S. in Civil and Environmental Engineering with a minor in Entrepreneurial Leadership Studies from Tufts University. Matt is currently based in New York City. Outside of work, Matt enjoys do-it-yourself projects, thrifting, surfing, and cooking.
