Karen Bressler

Entrepreneur, Executive & Philanthropist

Karen Bressler has been committed to businesses primarily in the food industry for more than forty years.  She is best known as CEO for of AGAR, a meat and food distribution company, growing revenue to $650mm prior to its successful sale in 2012.  Since then, Karen has continued to serve in numerous board roles for profit and nonprofit, notably in the food space, most proudly at Community Servings.    2015 Karen opened Amuleto Mexican Table in Waltham with a partner.  She is a current board member at City Fresh in Boston.  Karen is also a director of Rantoul Foods/AGAR in Illinois.   In addition, Karen helps young people starting out in business and taught Entrepreneurship and Food at the Friedman School of Nutrition.   Other advisory roles include Tufts Friedman School of Nutrition, Boston Symphony Orchestra and Trustee Emerita at BIDMC.  She enjoys food and travel and speaks six languages.   She is also a competitive dressage equestrienne, working toward her Silver Medal.  Karen holds a BA Magna Cum Laude from Boston University and a Masters in International Management degree from Thunderbird School of International Management.
