Ron has taught courses in Engineering Entrepreneurship, Linear Systems Theory, Senior Design Project, Junior Design, Electrical Systems, and Societal Aspects of Design. Ron is a technology and management advisor for international companies in the area of strategic technology and product portfolio. He has received the Henry and Madeline Fischer Award for Teaching Excellence in 2018, 2017, and 2009. He has developed two courses in design as part of the Tufts Innovates! grant program. He is a mentor at EForAll in Lowell, accelerating economic and social impact through entrepreneurship in mid-sized cities.
Ron started his career in telecommunications and computers developing Unix and MS DOS-based systems and networks for AT&T Bell Laboratories. He worked at DuPont in their Electronic Prepress business developing scanners, document processing, and color imaging products. Ron was the director of engineering at General Scanning responsible for medical imaging and printing technologies and helped take the company public.
Ron has a Ph.D. from Carnegie Mellon University and holds a Master of Science and Bachelor of Science degrees in mechanical engineering, also from Carnegie-Mellon University. He has completed the executive education Strategic Marketing Management program at the Harvard Business School.
