Tim Buntel is a product leader and entrepreneur with more than 25 years of experience in the software industry. He has built scalable, innovation-driven businesses in companies ranging from hypergrowth VC-backed startups through to some of the most recognized global brands including Adobe, Atlassian, and Microsoft. Tim was co-founder and CEO of Bluefyre, a cybersecurity company acquired by Threat Stack (now part of F5). For the past several years, he has been the chief product officer of Ably Realtime, a Platform as a Service (PaaS) company powering synchronized digital experiences in realtime for more than 250 million devices around the world every day.
Tim has also been deeply involved with entrepreneurial education for over a decade. He was co-founder and a member of the board of directors for Smarter in the City, a non-profit high-tech accelerator focused on developing entrepreneurial mindsets and creating economic opportunities for computer science and digital media entrepreneurs in underserved communities, based in Boston’s Nubian Square. Tim has mentored dozens of startups and run workshops at many other tech incubators and accelerator programs including DesignX at MIT, MIT Solve, and Entrepreneurship for All (EforAll).
