Maker Workshop: DIY Air Quality Monitors

What is in the air you are breathing now?

Find out by joining the Local Haze team at the Nolop FAST Facility Makerspace at see how you too can build a device that helps answer the air around you. After a short presentation covering why air quality matters, the options for measuring air quality and the available designs and kits for building your own low-cost monitor. There will be a demonstration assembly of an AirGradient Open Air Monitor Kit followed by discussion and pizza.

Open to Tufts students, faculty, and staff of all backgrounds; no prior electronic or environmental science experience required.

About Karen Donoghue
Karen Donoghue, a Tufts alumna and Jumbopreneur, is an expert product designer, strategist, author, and entrepreneur. She is Founder and Principal of HumanLogic, a boutique product design consultancy specializing in early-stage product strategy and de-risking complex technical systems. Karen also releases her own mobile products, most recently Local Haze, an iPhone app for monitoring local air quality that crowdsources sensor data for over 33,000 sensors worldwide and maintains a 4.5 star rating.
