Innovation Month: Activate Fellowship Virtual Info Session

Scientists and engineers have world-changing discoveries sitting in labs right now—but most don’t yet have the time, money, or support to fully commit to bringing them to market.

That’s exactly what the Activate Fellowship provides.

In this virtual webinar, you’ll hear:

  • An overview of the Activate Fellowship and its benefits
  • How the Derby Center and Auster Center support early-stage science entrepreneurs
  • Tips for preparing a strong application — plus live Q&A
  • Insights from current Activate Fellows and Tufts alumni Michael Saad and Sophie Letcher of EntoCellular

EntoCellular won 1st place in the Healthcare & Life Sciences track of the 2025 Tufts New Ventures Competition, is a Tufts Venture Accelerator alum team, and completed NSF I-Corps with the Auster Center for Applied Innovation and Research.

Activate is the premier program for scientists on a mission. The two-year fellowship provides early-stage hard tech science entrepreneurs $100K in research funding, a yearly living stipend of up to $100K, intensive entrepreneurial training, mentorship, networking, and more—at no cost, with no equity taken. Applications close October 30.

Whether you’re a potential applicant or just curious, this session cohosted by the Auster Center for Applied Innovation and Research and the Derby Entrepreneurship Center at Tufts will help you explore how to get involved and support deep-tech innovation.
