Mobile Pixels: A Hardware Startup That Began With A Broken Laptop

Mobile Pixels Inc. was founded in 2018. Founder, Jack, was constantly frustrated by the lack of a secondary monitor that could help him work more efficiently. Feeling strangely nostalgic about the work monitor he used at his previous job, he decided to build a laptop monitor from a broken laptop. That is how their first product Mobile Pixels Duex was born.

Fast forward to 2024, and the company has no fewer than 10 products, serving the display needs of mobile professionals whose offices are wherever their laptops happen to be. Join us in a fireside chat and hear the story of how these hardware founders combined the best technology in the market to create a lightweight portable monitor that increases your productivity and makes working efficient – and how they defied common wisdom about hardware business models and overcame challenges in hardware supply chain management to create a thriving and growing business.
