Entrepreneurial Workshop: Segmentation and Go To Market Strategy

The first thing to do in new venture creation is to build a deep understanding of the market and customers. We will review how you defined your target market, developed your segmentation framework, and review whether your chosen area focus is a good match for a beachhead market based on your own selection criteria – and if not, how you might pivot to a more favorable beachhead market that you can use as a launchpad to build a scalable business.

We will then help you explore how market selection leads to building buyer personas and an associated buying process, starting with how your economic buyer or end user becomes aware they have a problem, search for and evaluate a solution, then make a decision to buy or adopt that solution. We will help you review your awareness generation tactics to check for product-market fit.

This session is led by Prof. Gavin Finn, Professor of the Practice at Tufts University. Hosted by the Derby Entrepreneurship Center (DEC).

This Entrepreneurial Workshop Series is part of the Tufts Venture Accelerator. Full time accelerator cohort members will be in-person. Everyone else is welcome to join by Zoom.
